Journeys New Front Man

Ok, so i have no idea how long this new's has been public or how long Journey has been looking for a lead man, but this morning on the Adam Corolla Show, they were talking about Neil Schon of Journey looking through You Tube for hours trying to find a lead singer for there band and jackpot he found one.

Basically i guess what happened was there then current front man Jeff Scott Soto was kicked out of the band because they were looking to go in a new direction. This new direction was i guess fucking you tube, but i can't really knock them for looking on the net because what they found blew me the fuck away.

Back in the Philippines there was this pretty popular cover band called "The Zoo". There lead singers name was Arnel Pineda, and wow this guy can sing. The band in all is pretty good, not great, but good, and they take on some pretty hard songs to cover, Songs from the Beatles, to rush, to even Nirvana, but all in all there all really good covers.

Im just gonna tell you right now if you don't believe me , then well fuck you, haha jk , but no seriously you need to check this dude out, he is a carbon copy of Steve Perry if not, dare i say better? You be the judge Here are my two favorite Covers by the Zoo. Sing little Filipino man, sing.

This one nearly got me naked.

To listen to all of there other covers, theres like over 60, go to there you tube page. http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=ndgomez777

MOVIE REVIEW - The Mist

Let me start off by saying that going into watching this movie i wasn't very excited or anxious about seeing this movie because i didn't know anything about this movie. The only thing i knew about it was from what Mario told me on this last podcast we recorded (Beyond The Grave - Episode 7), and all i had to go off was that it was like Half Life , which is a video game. So because of the fact that i love half life so much, and someone out there was reminded of it while watching this movie, i thought what the hell lets check this out.

The Mist is based off of a Steven King novella, and is about a strange mist that covers a small town one day and traps a group of locals in a super market. One of the things that worried me was that the whole movie was going to take place in this supermarket, and sure enough i was pretty much right. Half way into the movie, it wasn't really a big deal that you were stuck in the market with the people because it causes you to feel how there supposed to, trapped and frustrated. I caught myself really getting into the story once they introduced this local preacher lady that swears the mist is the "End of Days". She slowly gets people to become followers of her preachings, and it began to piss me off alot, any movie that gets me to believe in a character enough to hate em is doing a great job in my book.

So ok , a quick run through, the mist starts consuming anyone and everyone who dares walk into it, at first you just hear there screams, but slowly they start showing you whats inside the mist doing all this damage. Without spoiling the plot to much ill say this much, the "things" in the mist are not monsters, nor animals that you would see on the discover channel, but the are living things that like to kill, if that makes sense. So with that said they didn't have people in suites, but what movies these days go that route anyways, it was of course CGI. You would think that it's 2007 and the CGI in movies would be ridiculously good, but i guess they didn't have the budget to hire the big dogs so i think they had to settle for tv cg people. The first showing of the things in the mist was such a horrible display, it was really really fake looking. That had me worried for the most part cause any thing that looked that lousy can only hurt the film. Fortunately later on in the film the cg got a little better for some reason, maybe they were split up into teams to see who works on what in the movie, but the middle to the end cgi was pretty good for the most part.

The Mist delivered in my opinion, lately ive been going to the movies and seeing nothing but garbage. Im used to being bored and disappointed going into the theaters and this movie was a bit of fresh air for me, the plot was simple yet well executed, and the ending of the movie was very good, some might say just plain wrong. I was satisfied, not wowed , but satisfied , and for that reason im going to recommend all of you to go check it out. Its a good movie to watch in theaters but i think it's a great great rental if you don't mind waiting. Either was in my opinion is a fine way of viewing it.

80's Commercial In The Bag

Oh my god, i don't think Zombie House has put this much blood, sweat, and tears towards a project in a long time. Me , James, and Armando just finished the commercial for the fake 80's video game "Super Battle Commando Warrior 3", and i can safely say this is one of our biggest completed projects to date.

We went all out for this one, since it was videogame related i think a little bit of all of us went into it. Growing up during the 80's helped us a great deal in deciding the direction we wanted to take this commercial. The finished product in my opinion is more than satisfying.

Now the nerve racking part has begun, its out for the public to judge. I forgot to mention earlier, the reason this commercial was created, was to go up against other fake 80's game commercial in a G3TV contest. People from the station will be judging all of the commercials and pick 1 winner.

Even though im proud of what we done, im getting worried that we didn't do the best we could have done, even though i know we did, its just the competitiveness in me. But i would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who acted in this commercial for believing in the us and in the project. Without you guys Super Battle Commando Warrior 3 couldn't have come to life.

So far we have been getting really positive reviews, which is a relief because we really want good feedback for all of our projects, but who doesn't. Anyways, if you haven't seen it go to ziddio.com and register and vote for us. We want a good score for our commercial, even though the winner isn't going to be decided by votes, but it does help.

If you haven't seen it yet, here it is. SUPER BATTLE COMMANDO WARRIOR 3

Zombie House Being Productive

Today was an awesome ass day for Zombie House. Today me, James, Armando, and Christian completed stage 1 of "Operation 80's Commercial". What the fuck is that you might ask, well its basically this. G4tv is hosting the contest to see who can make the best 80 video game commercial, so Armando thought it would be something fun and simple for Zombie House to do, and so far he's right.

Today we all drove up to Millerton Lake and shot about 50 percent footage needed for our commercial. ZH's own Christian Espenoza and our friend Tang were cool enough to step into two dope ass roles. I don't wanna give to much away about the commercial were shooting but soon there will be pictures of todays shoot on Zombie House's Myspace Page. With all the stuff we've been doing lately, i feel really really good that ZH is back on course and motivated to be making short films again. Watch out Fresno, here we come again.

MOVIE REVIEW - Beowulf

"I AM BEOWULF" Screw that all i kept telling myself was "I AM FUCKING BORED". I don't know exactly what i was expecting coming to the movies to see this flick, i think i just wanted to go see a damn movie. I wasn't really looking forward to it , so it had plenty of opportunity to surprise me. Unfortunately this movie just ended up boring the shit out of me.

Im not going to explain what the movie is about because it'll bore me to death typing it, so ill just say this much, Trying to put serious long forms of dialogue into an animated movie just does not work for me. The fact that every human character in the moive had that dumb slightly cross eyed face on them just totally ruined the movie for me. Im the type of person that lets something as little as a misplaced eye ball ruin a whole movie for me. They seemed like they had no souls, they were like manikins that came to life or something.

Even with all the action scenes, and a naked battle scene between Beowulf and Grendell, i was still bored out of my damn mind. I think this movie should have been done with real actors. Armando was telling me that he read or heard somewhere that this movie was said to be impossible to film for a live action version. Looking back at what i saw, there was nothing shown that would have made it impossible for this movie to be made live action. Lord of the Rings basically showed me that anythings possible when it comes to these type of films.

So anyways, this movie was animated nice, aside from there dumb fuck faces, but the story line was kinda lacking and boring to sit through. Maybe i should of forked out the 14 bucks and watched it in 3D. Or Maybe not.

Grade: C- (For dope visuals, and Angelina Jolie's Digital Ass and Breasts)

MOVIE NEWS - Dragon Ball Z Movie - Goku and Piccolo Casted

Growing up i think all of us males saw an episode or two of Dragon Ball Z , so noone should be a stranger to the series. But in case you don't know it was one of the most popular Anime series ever made, go google it to find out the details. But for me, the idea of making a live action movie is very very risky, especialy if you remember how crazy an episode of Dragon Ball Z can get, it could come out really bad on the big screen.

But it doesn't matter what i think cause the balls already rolling on the live action movie. Actor/writer/director Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) is producing. Final Destination helmer James Wong will direct from a script he wrote. Ben Ramsey wrote an earlier draft. In the big screen adaptation, Goku is a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name.

Now heres the Juicy news, who is gonna play Goku? You might like it or you might hate it, but either way, your gonna have to just accept it. The lucky actor that got chosen is the one , the only , Justin Chatwin (The Invisible, War of the Worlds). Yeah im not familiar with his work, but i remember seeing the previews for The invisible. What worries me the most is how much of the actual anime are they gonna imitate on film, cause i don't think anyone with a Goku hair cut would actually look cool in real life.

Piccolo on the other hand anyone can getaway with, cause he's bald, and he's green. So i'm not too worried about how he turns out, but with American cinema, anythings possible (cough Street Fighter Blanka cough). I cough alot in my blogs. Anyways the lucky chap to play Piccolo is James Marsters ("Smallville," "Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer").

So there you go, theres the scoop on two of the main characters. I honestly think that the movie wont come out terrible since Stephen Chow has his foot in it, i mean come on , kung fu hustle was a great movie. I think with his eye on Dramatic Super Power Cinema, this movie will at least turn out Entertaining enough to rent. But the kid in me is praying this movie does very well.

Video Games - Portal 18 Minute Speed Run

Now i love videogames as much as the next guy, and some would even say that i play too much *cough call of duty *cough, but this right here is just ridiculous. This was posted yesterday on www.kotaku.com and it shows a hardcore gamer blazing through Orange Box's Portal in 18 min. on PC.

Now mind you this dude basically knows each puzzle inside and out, and the way he defeats the boss is just crazy, i blame the developers for allowing these type of shananagins, but anyways without further ado , prepare to be amazed. Video is in two parts.
